OUR PROFILEOur company has been actively involved for many years in dealing with old objects, both in Athens and Komotini (located in northern Greece). In our shop, you will find objects, antiques, furniture, wood for floors, architectural elements, etc., from Greece and other countries and cultures , basically from places where Greek culture left its imprint. Our shop is filled with rare objects from the past which still have a utilitarian value today whether used for their original purposes or converted to something different and new. Furthermore, we deal in renting objects and furniture for use in theatrical productions, cinema, special events, etc.
Mandra has hand crafted furniture and decorative items including many 19th and 20th Century antiques. They have been conserved by technicians using traditional techniques. A list of Mandra's inventory includes items from the Balkans and the Middle East and from wherever Hellenic civilization has touched - both geographically and esthetically. There are traditional kitchen and work utensils, folk and urban furniture, very good examples of Islamic artistry, e.g., chargers, jewelry, and copper and bronze decorative items. In addition, there are many religious items from the Orthodox Christian faith and other Balkan and Middle East religions. There are many architectural details and items which have been reclaimed from Greek neo-classical houses which include, in part, bricks, antique encaustic cement tiles in many different colors and designs, interior and exterior wood and metal windows and doors, marble basins and sinks, marble floor tiles, oak floors, marble well tops, carved wood ceilings, metal railings, marble balcony supports, roof tiles, marble and ceramic decorative items, marble backs with basins for garden use, marble fountains and bird baths, etc. There are monastery dining tables, carpenters' work benches and kitchen cabinets made in Mandra's work shop utilizing oak which is, at least, 100 years old. Architects and interior designers find economic solutions in purchasing Mandra's wares. We also sell to many shops, and our prices to the public are wholesale. Many of our items are also rented to and used by theater production companies, cinema and television series.
